Figure

The human form is deeply emotive; the slightest shift in posture can suggest an entirely different feeling. It is impossible to view the body purely in anatomical terms without also responding to its psychological and emotional presence. For many years, I have been captivated by the figure, exploring it through a wide range of techniques, colours and postures. I am interested in the ways the body communicates without words, through gesture, tension, balance and movement and how these subtle changes can reveal an inner emotional life.
